Partner Spotlight

Motor City Blight Busters is a non-profit organization and is led by Detroit native, John George. MCBB has been a staple in the community since 1988. Their main mission is to stabilize and revitalize Detroit neighborhoods by demolishing blighted properties and organizing community events and efforts.

John George was given an award by President Clinton the “Points of Light Institute”. It is only awarded to people who have done outstanding volunteer work. Oprah honored Motor City Blight Busters founder with 2012 VW Beetle. In 1995, John George received the "Michigainian of the Year" honor from The Detroit News.

Teach For America Detroit Region is so grateful for our existing supporters. All gifts help our effort to recruit, select, train and support corps members and alumni.
